Pedagogical Lead/Supervisor Support
Gore Bay Child Care Centre, serving Gore Bay and Manitowaning, is dedicated to creating a safe and stimulating environment where children can explore, learn, and grow through a play-based curriculum.
As the Pedagogical Lead/Supervisor Support, you will model and support best practices in early childhood pedagogy, mentor staff, and help shape an environment where children thrive. You will be responsible for overseeing curriculum planning, promoting reflective teaching practices, and ensuring alignment with early learning frameworks and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:
- Work closely alongside educators to support the planning and delivery of engaging, developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences
- Collaborate and support staff in observing, documenting, and reflecting on children’s learning and development.
- Mentor and coach educators through regular in-class support, modeling best practices, staff check ins, goal setting and offering constructive feedback.
- Foster a team culture of respect, collaboration, and continuous professional growth
- Lead and participate in team planning meetings, encouraging reflective dialogue and shared decision-making
- Promote inclusive practices that honor the individuality and voices of all children and families
- Build strong relationships with educators, families, and the wider community to support a positive learning environment
- Oversee and coordinate staff schedules to ensure consistent, high-quality care and learning opportunities
- Stay current with research and developments in early childhood education, and share insights with the team
- Liaison to purchase items that are needed for the centre
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field or
- Minimum 2 years of experience in early childhood education, including leadership or supervisory experience
- Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators is preferred
- In-depth knowledge of early childhood learning frameworks (e.g., CCEYA, How Does Learning Happen?)
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Passionate about play-based and inquiry-led learning
