We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to join our team! As an RECE, you will create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where children can grow, learn, and develop to their fullest potential. Responsibilities:

  • Program Development: Design, implement, and evaluate developmentally appropriate learning experiences, activities, and curriculum that cater to children’s unique needs, interests, and abilities. Ensure the curriculum aligns with educational goals and meets the developmental stages of children.
  • Observation & Assessment: Conduct regular observations to assess individual and group progress. Document developmental milestones, and plan activities that support growth in areas such as language, motor skills, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
  • Promote Social-Emotional Learning: Foster positive relationships and encourage respectful behavior between children. Provide guidance in conflict resolution and promote inclusivity, helping children build their social skills, empathy, and self-regulation.
  • Health and Safety: Supervise children at all times, ensuring their physical and emotional safety. Manage classroom safety, including emergency drills, and follow health protocols (e.g., allergies, medication administration, sanitation) to maintain a healthy environment.
  • Inclusive Practices: Create and maintain a culturally responsive and inclusive environment, respecting and valuing diversity. Ensure that all children feel welcomed, respected, and supported, including those with special needs or who may require additional assistance.
  • Family Engagement: Build strong relationships with families, maintaining open communication regarding children's progress, challenges, and overall development. Offer guidance and support for parents, ensuring a positive partnership in the child's educational journey.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other educators, support staff, and the management team to ensure consistency in program delivery, sharing insights and strategies to support children's development. Participate in team meetings, professional development sessions, and collaborative planning.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain an organized, engaging, and welcoming classroom environment. Set clear behavioral expectations, promote positive reinforcement, and encourage children to take responsibility for their actions in a nurturing setting.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and developments in early childhood education. Attend training, workshops, and conferences to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Record Keeping & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, developmental milestones, behavioral observations, and any incidents. Ensure confidentiality and proper storage of documentation.
  • Parent Education: Provide resources, workshops, or materials that help parents support their child’s development at home. Encourage parental involvement in classroom activities and events to strengthen the community aspect of the learning environment.
  • Follow Licensing and Regulatory Standards: Adhere to all local and provincial child care regulations, licensing standards, and guidelines. Ensure that all policies and procedures are followed to provide the best care and educational experience for the children.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE)
  • Previous experience working in an early childhood education setting (1+ years preferred).
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Current certification in First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain).
  • Clear criminal background check and vulnerable sector screening.
