Responsibilities:

  • Actively engage children in daily routines and activities, and help extend their play and conversations.
  • Attend to children's physical needs, including diapering, toileting, eating and sleeping, with respect and care.
  • Help keep the environment safe, clean and welcoming, including light cleaning and food preparation as needed.
  • Use positive guidance strategies (redirection, positive language and reinforcement) in line with the centre's policies.
  • Report accidents, injuries, illnesses and any concerns to the RECE or Supervisor, and record them as required.
  • Communicate warmly and professionally with families and colleagues.
  • Follow the centre's policies and procedures and the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014.
  • Attend team meetings and professional learning opportunities.
